An extraordinary and vibrant figure of a Boy Buddha with a playful expression smiling and holding a Hawk in the palm of his right hand. The Boy Buddha is signed Kenzan on the back near the base (photo 8, 11 & 12). He is beautifully hand carved from a single, solid piece of what appears to be Mahogany or Cherry wood generously inlaid with Gold Maki-e and finished in Urushi Lacquer.
The Boy Buddha will ship in his original wooden box. Approximate dimensions are 15.5 cm height and 11 cm width. Approximate weight is 570 grams. 1 kg with box.
