A rare and ancient Cetaka figurine from late Heian to Mid Kamakura period signed by an unknown artist. Hand carved from a single piece of cypress. Guardian Cetaka also referred to as Seitaka Doji stands in a frontal pose, wearing scarf and dhoti with one arm lowered to hold a staff. He assumes the form of a youth. His skin is the colour of a red lotus and his hair is tied in five knots. He holds a vajra in his left hand and his right arm which is missing would hold a vajra-club kougousho.
Cetaka personifies expedient action and is often found accompanying Kongara in the Fudou triad.
