A pair of highly detailed Bronze Cranes from early 20th Century Japan professionally mounted on enamelled steel stands. The cranes are hand made bronze nail covers used in Temples and stately homes. Mounted on individual steel enamelled bases by a specialist whose work is also featured in the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia. They are in excellent and as new condition which is unusual for an item of its age.
The birds are identical in size and design. The approximate height of the birds on stands are 16 cm and 12.5 cm respectively. The total weight including stands is 498 grams.
