An intricate and delicate work of art by master silversmith Sekitake Hiko.  Two hand made signed sterling silver cranes each individually mounted on enamelled steel stands in flight from a sterling silver pine tree branch.  The pine tree is also sterling silver and mounted individually on an enamelled steel stand.  Mounted on a black lacquer base with the silver makers mark of Sekitake Hiko on the base. Each item screws into to the enamelled stand and can be adjusted if required.  Mounted professionally by a specialist whose work is also featured in the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia.

Sekitake Hiko was born in 1908 in the Chiba prefecture of Japan.  In 1922 he moved to Tokyo as the silversmith apprentice of  Tajima Katsuyuki. After this period Seki perfected his art under master Kosaka Munehiro, and established himself as a bona fide silversmith in 1936.

Approximate Dimensions are 27 cm width and 8 cm depth and 16.5 cm height and the approximate weight is 181 grams.
