RATING

A charming Meiji period 1868 – 1912 bronze okimono of a Japanese Chin Dog.  Cast from bronze and mixed metal the playpul puppy has his front paw on an intricately detailed ball.  His head is upright as he gazes as his owner urging them on to play with him.  His animated face and open mouth show an excitement as he barks his request for a game.  The puppy’s posture with his tail upright and back legs indicate a dog ready to spring into action.  His approximate dimensions are Length 14 cm, Height to tail 14 cm, and Weight 1019 grams.  A quality okimono that would make a fantastic feature in a home.
