A beautifully detailed, large and striking five tier Jubako from Edo Era Japan. Complete with the original wooden storage box it is masterfully executed. Featuring black Urushi lacquer with genuine gold lacquer Pine branches and Pine cones in intricate raised relief around the body and lids. Red lacquer insides with 2 lids featuring Nashiji-e finish and golden lacquer Cranes. In excellent condition showing signs of use and wear given the age of this Jubako.
Approximate dimensions of the Jubako are 72.5 cm height, and 29 cm width and depth. The weight of the Jubako with the wooden storage case is 10.6 kg.
