Japanese Scroll Farmhouses Signed Itsudo
An antique Japanese Scroll of unknown age depicting Farmhouses in a rural scene and signed by Itsudo. The signature and seal of the artist is at the top right of the artwork.
The upper crosspiece known as hyoumoku is karaki wood. The lower crosspiece also known as jiku is a also wooden. The honshi or artwork is also in good condition. Silk brocade strips depicting swirling clouds also frame the artwork in the centre of the scroll. Hand made washi is also used for the scroll backing and is traditionally used in all antique scrolls.
The scroll has some abrasions on the sides and other signs of age, use and wear (see images). It also has some signs of foxing and toning due to its age.
Approximate dimensions are 188.5 cm in length and 40 cm width. Approximate length of roller 46 cm.
This item will be carefully rolled and packed for shipping in a tube. Shipping is via Australia Post and includes tracking and signature on delivery.
