Furisode Silk Floral Kimono

A vintage Kimono made from Furisode Silk and beautifully hand painted with flowers.  Gold thread has been used to embellish the flowers on parts of the kimono.

Single user provenance.  Made as part of a trousseau in the early 1950s it has been carefully preserved.  Sold with the original kimono makers paper wrapping and saffron wrapping cloth.  The kimono was lovingly stored after a journey from Japan to a new home in Melbourne in the 1950’s.

In very good condition with some signs of age.  Approximate dimensions:

• Mitake (length from shoulder to bottom) 160 cm
• Yuki (sleeve length from centre back to cuff) 33 cm
• Mihabi (width of back bodice) 62 cm
• Sodetake (vertical sleeve length) 89 cm
