$11,800.00

A beautifully hand crafted three case Inro from the EDO era signed by Kajikawa Saku. Intricately detailed with layers of gold Urushi lacquer and bearing the pot seal of the Kajikawa family and the signature of Saku.

A peacock perched on a branch above a river and surrounded by flowering cherry blossoms and camellias embellished in a rose gold lacquer.  The verso of the Inro also bears the same intricate detail with a Mandarin Duck floating on the river. The inside is also covered with layers of Nashiji-e lacquer.  The inro is in excellent condition overall considering its incredible age of 200 plus years. There are some minor signs of wear on some of the flowers (see images) which are still full of life and colour.

The Coral Ojime and handcarved wooden gourd shaped Netsuke are strung on the original silk cord.  The workmanship and committment to intricate details are a nod to a craft that required patience and time to create each work of art.  Sold as is in a kiri wood box.
