Masao has applied mica on the margins, the door hinges and some of the stone paving to create a subtle contrast in tones and textures.

Ido Masao Woodblock Uchimizu
An original 1991 woodblock print by Ido Masao titled Uchimizu. In excellent condition with vibrant colours and pencil signed by Masao. A simple water sprinkling tradition in Japan, known as Uchimizu, is able to cool down a hot temperature in the summer. The sprinkling of water in Japanese gardens and streets is more than a mere matter of hygiene. In temples and gardens it serves a ritual or contemplative purpose.
