An original 1991 woodblock print by Ido Masao titled Uchimizu. In excellent condition with vibrant colours and pencil signed by Masao. A simple water sprinkling tradition in Japan, known as Uchimizu, is able to cool down a hot temperature in the summer. The sprinkling of water in Japanese gardens and streets is more than a mere matter of hygiene. In temples and gardens it serves a ritual or contemplative purpose.  This print is #61 of a limited edition of 180 woodblock prints.
