Yasushi Ohmoto (1926 – 2014) was born in Hokkaido. He served in the Japanese army during the Pacific war and studied arts after the war was ended, graduating in arts from Meiji University in 1951. One of his teachers Fumio Kitaoka was active in the Sosaku Hanga art movement. He exhibited with the Nihon Hanga Kyokai artist association from the 1950s. He also conducted woodblock print making demonstrations in the USA during the 1980s.
His work primarily featured landscapes and scenes of nature.
