Estimated to be from the mid to late 1800’s a beautifully detailed Tsuba featuring gold inlay work on both sides. Golden clouds surround a silver moon looking over the gold Kiyomizu Temple and surrounds. A flock of gold birds on the reverse fly over the bridge and surrounding temple area.

Kiyomizu-dera is a Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto which is one of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
