A rare Chuban size Artist Proof woodblock print by Yasushi Ohmoto of Hokkaido University Farm in early Summer.   In excellent condition and pencil signed by the artist on the margin. From Otaru, Hokkaido Japan Print Association Hokkaido University Landscape Painting.  In very good condition except for some spotting on the margin of the print (see image).

The approximate Dimensions of the sheet are  23.5 cm Width and 18 cm Height

Yasushi Ohmoto (1926 – 2014) was born in Hokkaido.  He served in the Japanese army during the Pacific war and studied arts after the war was ended, graduating in arts from Meiji University in 1951. One of his teachers Fumio Kitaoka was active in the Sosaku Hanga art movement. He exhibited with the Nihon Hanga Kyokai artist association from the 1950s. He also conducted woodblock print making demonstrations in the USA during the 1980s.  His work primarily featured landscapes and scenes of nature.
