RATING
A very rare and original Japanese Pure Silk WWII Going to War Banner from 1943. The hand painted Kanji on the Banner is beautifully hand painted. Translated it states that it was commissioned and presented to Mr Nishii Touchi by his work colleagues at the Kengaku Glass Shop pending his imminent Military Deployment to Indonesia. This Banner is all pure silk with the original hanging cross piece with Silk Tassels and hanging Cord fully Intact.
Being Pure Silk it is remarkable that the banner is in such very good overall condition. This despite showing some minor fraying and insect damage (please see photos).
Approximate dimensions are 170 cm length and 54 cm width.
The Banner will be carefully rolled and packed for shipping in a tube. Shipping is via Australia Post and includes tracking and signature on delivery.
