Two Case Lacquer Inro And Shi Shi Netsuke

A skilfully hand crafted two case with a Netsuke depicting a Shi Shi lion. Estimated to be from the Meiji Era 1890 to early 1900’s. Embellished with a rust red Urushi Negoro lacquer outer and a black Urushi lacquer inner.  The Inro is decorated with a wrap around mountain and river landscape of a Pagoda Castle with pine trees and bird front and verso.  Finished with a beautifully crafted Dragon Cloisonne Ojime and a hand carved Stag Horn Netsuke of a Shi Shi Lion-Dog with a beetle riding on it’s back.  In very good overall condition showing some signs of age and wear. Approximate dimensions of the Inro are body are 7.5 cm height and 7.5 cm wide.
