A beautfully detailed shin hanga print by Toshi Yoshida depicting the Hakone Museum in Autumn.

The autumn foilage is a striking backdrop for the landscaped entrance to Hakone Museum.  A trail of white clouds hover over the rocky hills and create a striking backdrop for the beautifully landscaped waterfall and pond in the foreground. A beautifully detailed shin hanga with vibrant colours.

The print is in excellent condition and has never been used and the title is shown in English as well as Japanese.

Originally printed in 1954 this is a later reprint by printer Numabe Shinkichi of the Yoshida studio. Signed by the Artist in English in the margin and Japanese within the image (with chop).

The approximate dimensions of the print are 37 cm height and 22.5 cm width.

The approximate dimensions of the sheet are 40 cm height and 27 cm width.

Toshi Yoshida  –  1911-1995     

Toshi Yoshida was the eldest son of Hiroshi Yoshida and travelled extensively all over the world and often with his father.  His trips took him to the USA and Canada, India, Africa as well as Australia and even to the Antarctica.  Yoshida’s body of work was primarily landscapes and animals which he depicted in a realistic style.

After the death of his father Hiroshi Yoshida he also experimented in abstract art for a while
eventually returning to creating realistic landscape prints.
