An exceptionally rare matching set of three beautifully detailed Edo Era decorative nail covers depicting Chrysanthemum leaves and buds. Hand crafted between the 1700s to mid 1800s from bronze and copper and in very good condition.  Set on individual custom hand made Museum quality steel stands they make a unique and striking decorative statement.

Kugikakushi are decorative architectural features which are individually hand crafted.  They embellish nails used in the construction of Castles and Temples as well as homes of aristocratic families. The use of decorative nail covers originated during the 16th and 17th centuries.
