An early 20th Century large Takaoka Lacquerware Kashibako lidded confectionery box in the shape of a Sea Bream. Finely hand carved in the shape of a yellow bellied red sea bream, a dark red body and black lacquer interior. The scales and fin are beautifully detailed and finished in red lacquer and the tail and fin are also decorative handles.
In very good condition with one fine crack on the fin on the lid (please study the images).
The approximate dimensions are 457 grams weight and 40 cm x 20 cm and 6.5 cm depth.
