Ashikaga’s depiction of a pair of mated blue crested dusky Ouzels perched on a Pine Tree. A beautifully detailed Oban Woodblock Print by Shizuo Ashikaga.   The title in Japanese reads “Matsu ni Tsugumi” on the right margin and Ashikaga’s red seal and the seal of Uchida the Publisher are also present.  The woodblock print is detailed and crisp with excellent colour registration.

The series was produced C1950 during the lifetime of the artist.

Shipping is via Australia Post and includes Tracking and signature on delivery.

Approximate Dimensions  of Print are 40.5 cm High  and 27cm Wide.  Approximate Dimensions of Sheet are 45 cm High and  30.5 cm Wide.

Born in 1917 Shizuo Ashikaga graduated from Kyoto Municipal Arts University and studied under Taiken Yokoyama.  He was also active as a painter and restored works of ancient paintings and temples.
