A pre Edo Era Kozuka complete with its Kogatana estimated to be from the 1600s. Featuring gold and silver sparrows in flight which represent spiritual symbols of heaven and the after life journey. The blade is showing oxidization, wear and signs of use in keeping with its age. As a utility knife it has had substantial use by its Samurai owner as shown by the knocks and dents in the images. The signature is also worn and faint.
