Takenaka’s whimsical depiction of the cats that frequent the grounds of the legendary Shrine. Many of the cats belong to the teahouses in the grounds of the shrine. They roam freely during the day basking in the sun and getting pats and treats from visitors. This print is 102 of 200. The artists pencil signature and seal are on the print.
Approximate dimensions of sheet are 32.5 cm Height and 22 cm Width
Since her departure Fu’s sister has been authenticating reproduction woodblock prints with her original red seal. Kasasagi woodblock prints by Fu are original and pencil signed by her before her departure.

TAKENAKA, FU 1945 – 2022. Fu Takenaka was one of a small number of female woodblock print artists in Japan. She worked for a design company and received her second prize in the Fibre Design Council in 1964. In 2003 she began Creating Woodblock Prints and Received an Award in 2008 in the Ban-in Exhibition.
