An evocative woodblock print illustration from a Romance or Fiction book during the late Meiji era (1910s). Nicely rendered and beautifully depicted on thin, hand made Washi paper as was common in neo -modernist Meiji era Japan.

A Geisha entertains an admirer in a Tea Ceremony setting.  A traditional room divider is the backdrop featuring a background decorated with a gentle landscape depicting Mandarin ducks symbolizing love and romance.
