A Japanese Cloissone Tea Caddy from the late 1800s attributed to Namikawa Yasuyuki (1845 to 1927). Using gold and shakudo wires and featuring spades around the base and top of the caddy. A bird and floral icons adorn the body of the tea caddy.
The use of gold and white metal fittings indicate a tea caddy that was made without compromise. It is also in very good condition apart from an old repairs to the lid and the body of the tea caddy and the slightly expanded join of the bronze neck of the caddy. Please see images highlighting the repairs.
