Soft Deerskin leather and very durable Japanese lacquer combine to create a premium product which is very flexible and strong.  Beautiful and intricate lacquer patterns are carefully applied and handmade into beautiful products which last for years to come.

The History of Inden – the art of Lacquered Deerskin

Inden is the art of creating beautiful as well as long lasting lacquer designs on deerskin.  The craft of Inden started in 1582 during the Sengoku period for the production of some of the garments used for Samurai armours.

Our deerskin products are still handmade using the same techniques from 1582.
