Hiroshige’s creation of Cherry And Monkey is believed to have been produced in the 1830s. A pet monkey sits under flowering cherry blossoms. Hiroshige is considered to have produced his best work between 1832 and 1836 when he was aged 36 to 40. Among these works are his flower and bird pictures many of which are framed in a vertical rectangle. The woodblock print in very good condition.

Utagawa Hiroshige also known as Andō Hiroshige 1797 to 1858. Hiroshige was the last great master of the ukiyo-e tradition.
Hiroshige is famous for his landscapes as well as his depictions of birds and flowers. He also created series such as the Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido and the Sixty-nine Stations of the Kiso Kaido.
