A rare miniature genuine woodblock print of Station 37 of the Kisokaido. Titled Miyanokoshi-juku the print is in excellent condition. This Hiroshige print depicts an evocative scene of a natural rural landscape at twilight with mist silhouetting a background of trees and houses as three figures cross a narrow bridge over the river. The woman crossing is pointing at the full moon and is preceded by a man carrying a child on his back. Accompanying them is a woman swaddling a baby on her chest. Originally produced in 1839 this is a faithfully and traditionally re carved and reprinted from the mid 20th century.
Approximate Dimensions of sheet are 21.5 cm width and 14 cm height.

Utagawa Hiroshige also known as Andō Hiroshige 1797 to 1858. Hiroshige was the last great master of the ukiyo-e tradition.
Hiroshige is famous for his landscapes as well as his depictions of birds and flowers. He created series such as the Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido and the Sixty-nine Stations of the Kiso Kaido.
