Hiroshige Chrysanthemum and Butterfly Fan Print

Hiroshige (1797 – 1858)

A beautiful and very rare Hiroshige fan print.  Excellent design with very fine detail of two butterflies and chrysanthemums in bloom.  This is a rarely seen fan print from Hiroshige.  The print ships already mounted to museum conservation standard and is ready for framing.   Print tipped to acid free foam core backing and mat by rice paper hinges upper corners and wheatflour starch adhesive.

There is also a poem on the print and translated it reads “the evening is lively with visiting guests who get drunk on sake and watching the cherry blossoms as dusk approaches”.

Artisan Seal and Signature are also on the print and margins.
