Hasui has captured the feeling of this winter scene outside Kiyomizudo during a heavy snowfall beautifully. The heavy snowfall from a blue sky is a beautiful contrast to the snowscape and vibrant red of the temple.
Originally created in 1929 and signed Hasui with red artist’s seal “Kawase”. This print is a later edition from the original woodblocks by Nakajima and the printer is Numabe.
The print is also in excellent and as new and unused condition.
Approximate dimensions of the print are 42 cm height and 28.5 cm width.
Approximate dimensions of image are 36.3 cm height and 23.7 cm width.

Hasui (1883 – 1957)
As a recognition of his contribution and skills Hasui was also declared a National Living Treasure in 1956.
