An Original Signed Limited Edition Lifetime Woodblock Print of Senbon Torii at Fushimi Inari Taisha Kyoto Japan by Fu Takenaka (1945 – 2022).
Takenaka’s whimsical creation depicts the cats that frequent the grounds of the legendary Shrine with the famous pillars of the shrine in the background. Many of the cats belong to the teahouses in the grounds of the shrine. They roam freely during the day basking in the sun and getting pats and treats from visitors.
This print is numbered 98 of 200. The artists pencil signature and seal are on the print.
Approximate dimensions of sheet are 39 cm height and 27 cm width. The print dimensions are 32.5 cm height and 22 cm width.
Since her departure Fu’s sister has been authenticating reproduction woodblock prints with her original red seal. Kasasagi woodblock prints by Fu are original and pencil signed by her before her departure.

TAKENAKA, FU 1945 – 2022. Fu Takenaka was one of a small number of female woodblock print artists in Japan. She worked for a design company and received her second prize in the Fibre Design Council in 1964. In 2003 she began Creating Woodblock Prints and Received an Award in 2008 in the Ban-in Exhibition.
