A beautiful set of four individually styled Shikkoku (black) and gold maki-e lacquer covered bowls. Estimated to be from 1890s and bearing the seal of the maker on the base of each bowl. Hand carved from either cherry or cedar wood and covered in black Urushi lacquer and individual gold lacquer motifs of flowers on the lid of each bowl. Two gold makie butterflies also adorn the inside lid of each bowl. A stunning set of bowls in very good condition.
Shipping is via Australia Post and includes tracking as well as signature on delivery.
