Finest Crepe Silk Kimono

A beautiful and delicate Japanese Vintage kimono made from the finest crepe silk and featuring marine scenes. Pale green crepe silk embossed with marine scenes featuring waves, turtles, octopus and fans and silk lined.

Single user provenance.  Made as part of a traditional wedding trousseau in the early 1950s it has been carefully preserved. The kimono was lovingly stored after a journey from Japan to a new home in Melbourne in the 1950’s. In very good condition with minor signs of age.  The kimono does not appear to have had a lot of usage. Approximate dimensions:

• Mitake (length from shoulder to bottom) 158 cm
• Yuki (sleeve length from centre back to cuff) 62 cm
• Mihabi (width of back bodice) 60 cm
• Sodetake (vertical sleeve length) 56 cm
