Edo Period Kyoto Lacquer Bowl

A traditional Kyoto ware Lacquer Bowl estimated to be from the late Edo period.  Hand crafted on a brown laquered surface with raised gold lacquer.  A central motif featuring the Hills of Kyoto surrounded by gold lacquer swirls, interspersed with Nashiji style gold lacquer flakes sasaki flowers, grape leaves and other blooms.

Black lacquer exterior with plum lacquer rim and gold lacquer crane and pine motifs.  Minor age related wear to lacquer inside bowl (see images).   Approximate diameter of bowl 5 inches.
