Antique Bronze Japanese Suichu Kettle Signed Kinseido

An antique signed bronze Suichu kettle stamped Kinseido on the base.  Also bearing the stamp of Oozeki (Japan’s biggest Sake Maker) on the lid.  Beautifully proportioned, skilfully and elegantly hand beaten with silvered and tinned interior lining.

In excellent condition for its age and for such a utilitarian household item.  Unlike the Tetsubin Kettle (used for tea ceremonies) the Suichi is a household item used in daily life in Japan.

Approximate dimensions are 511 grams weight. Total height 24 cm and body height 18 cm.  Total width 19 cm and diameter 15 cm.
