Antique ShiShi Celadon Koro

A very rare Celadon Incense Burner depicting a ShiShi Lion also known as a Fu Lion or Foo Lion.

In Japan, shíshī are also called Koma-inu (こま犬). They are depicted as playful and fierce guardians of children and are often placed as guardians outside Shinto shrines.

In good overall condition with minor signs of age and use (please see images).

Approximate dimensions are 14.5 cm height, 16.5 cm long and 8 cm deep and weight is 700 grams.
