An early 1900s Japanese antique Damascene Shigarettokēsu Cigarette Case featuring a Dragonfly. Hovering among reeds that are embellished in silver the Dragonfly has been beautfully detailed. A skilled craftsman has depicted the ethereal effect from his wings as they hover over the reeds.  His eyes have been inlaid with mother of pearl and his body, detailed in gold glistens in the sun.

As a testament to its authenticity and age there are signs of wear from use on the case which is missing the clasp and cigarette band inside (please see images).
